Obituary of Vernon Ellis Archer

Vernon Ellis Archer (80 yrs. old) of Pensacola Florida passed away on February 18th, 2023. Friends and family referred to him as Ellis. Ellis was born in Pensacola to Vernon and Lucille Archer on October 25th, 1942. Ellis graduated from Escambia High School in 1963. After graduating from high school Ellis enlisted in the Air Force where he spent the next few years. Afterwards he worked as a civil servant on helicopters and aircraft. He eventually retired from this in 1993. Ellis was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved the outdoors and to birdwatch. He was also a master gardener and caretaker of those he loved. Ellis is survived by his wife Betty and his two children Michael and Krissy. He is survived by two sisters, Linda Ann Lutz and Luverne Green, and grandchildren Lyssa Williamson and Raven Williamson, as well as great grandchild Sterling Jones and a number of other close family members. Ellis was predeceased by his brother Maurice and his parents Vernon C. and Lucille. Ellis's family will host a small funeral service on Friday, February 24th, 2023, at 11:00am to any friends and family who would like to attend. The service will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Gulf Beach Hwy.
