Obituary of Julius Hardy Showalter Sr.

 Husband, father and brother, Julius H. Showalter, known to most as "Jay" or "Juju", passed away March 4, 2023 at his home in Mary Esther, Florida, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Jay was born November 11, 1941 in Pineville, LA to James Aswell Showalter and Freda Ann Kern.  The baby of 5 boys.  He lived the majority of his life in New Orleans, LA, until he joined the USAF in 1959.  His MIlitary career took him around the world, including Spain, where he met his bride of over 60 years, Maria D. Showalter.  Together they continued to travel the world while on active duty and grew their family.

 

Surviving Julius, is his wife, Maria D. Showalter; daughter, Julie Pierce; son, Daniel "Danny" Showalter (Jeanne); grandaughter, Anna Maria Drye (Tyler); grandson, Jarod Pierce and great-grandson, James Tyler Drye.  Along with several nieces and nephews.

 

He will be laid to Rest at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.

 

A Celebration of life will be scheduled at a later day for all to visit and reminisce.
