Obituary of Joe Michael Callahan

Joe Michael Callahan born March 26, 1949 in Washington, D.C. succumbed to cancer on March 10, 2023 in Pensacola, Florida. He was 73 years old. "Mike," a long time resident of Gulf Breeze, Florida is predeceased by his older brothers, Johnny and Larry Callahan. He is survived by his remaining brothers, Harry and Billy Callahan; longtime companion, Faye Hatfield; son, Ekshon Callahan; and daughters, Trina Bradley and Shannon Hoist. Mike Callahan had a long and illustrious career in the United States Air Force, serving 20 years and achieving the rank of Master Sergeant as a K-9 Dog Handler. He further served another 20 years for the Department of Defense as an Eglin Air Force Base Range Patrolman and Deputy US Marshall. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a loving and doting grandfather to his many grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held for Joe Michael Callahan on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023, Visitation at 11am, Service to follow at 12pm at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 101 Mary Esther Boulevard, Mary Esther, Florida 32569. A Procession for a Committal Service for Joe Michael Callahan is scheduled on Thursday, March 16th, 2023 at 10am at Barrancas National Cemetery. The procession will meet no later than 9:15am at the Olive Baptist Church, Warrington Campus at 103 W. Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola, Florida 32507. A reception for family and friends will be held after the interment. Location to be announced.
