I am a past student of Belinda Schroeder’s, and my life wouldn’t be the same without her. She was my 6th grade science teacher, a time in which I was in no advanced classes due to my lack of academic confidence and ADHD. She was the first teacher I ever had who pulled me aside and told me I had potential, and I am still to this day grateful that she saw something in me that I couldn’t see myself. After our talk, I dedicated myself to taking advanced classes and pushed myself academically, particularly within STEM. Today, I am a student at the college of William and Mary. When I think of people who impacted my life, Belinda is up at the top. I was devastated when I returned to Navarre and heard of her passing, but I know she is looking down at us. I reach out with my sincere condolences to her family and friends, and to share my story of how she was able to touch my heart. Rest in Peace to the best science teacher Woodlawn has ever seen.
