Obituary of Mark Allen Burnett
Mark Allen Burnett, age 57, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 23 2023.
Mark was born Saturday, June 19, 1965 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was raised along with 5 siblings. After graduating from Northrop Highschool, Mark went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. During his duty Mark was awarded the Rifle Markman Badge, the Good Conduct Medal, 2 Letters of Appreciation, and a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 1 star.
Once Mark returned to civilian life, he used his skills to work his way up to management in the Restaurant industry and began a family with Lisa Schopmeyer Burnett. Mark was the type of man who loved spending time with his children and wife and later with his grandchildren. He was a huge Steelers fan, enjoyed wrestling, cooking, and always enjoyed a friendly philosophical debate, whether it be about religion, politics, or sports.
Mark joins in Heaven, his parents, Ralph Winford and Margaret Craig Burnett; and sisters, Viola Knox, and Helen Grosjean
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 25 years, Lisa Burnett; children, Christopher, Josette, Tyler, Mark; grandchildren, CJ Chris Burnett Jr, and the newest addition baby Burnett; siblings, Cindy, Tina, and Mike; as well as a plethora of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family.
Mark was a rare man, who would give the shirt of his back for his family, friends, and country. He loved with all of his heart and guided many people in his time here on Earth. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held in Marks honor on Monday, April 3 2023 at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2:30 pm; the procession will leave from Olive Baptist Church (Warrington Campus) at 2:15 pm.
