Obituary of Fred Salisbury Johnson Jr

Fred S Johnson Jr, 79, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023. Fred was born to Fred Johnson Sr and Doris Engler Johnson in Queens, New York where he was raised along with 3 siblings. After graduating West Babylon High School, Fred joined the United States Navy, where he served for 22 years. Among his many accomplishments in the U.S. Navy, he was awarded the Vietnam Service medal with star, the Gallantry Cross, the Armed Forces medal, Sea Service Deployment ribbon with star, Navy achievement Medal, and more than 4 good conduct ribbons. During his service Fred also earned his bachelors from the University of LaVerne. After serving his country, Fred retired to Pensacola, Florida, where he was the Owner of AllState Business Services.

 

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Fred Sr; and siblings, Richard Johnson and Diane Schaut.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Margaret Johnson; daughters, Wendy Diamond, Jennifer Johnson, and Jessica Seely (Phil); stepchildren, Heidi Buechner (Robert), Jen Barton (Bry), and Scott Dias (Lauren); grandchildren; Fred Diamond, Spencer Diamond, Katie Diamond (Ryan), and Claire Diamond; brother, Lawrence Johnson (Dawn); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Fred loved being a “Papa” and took great pride in all of his children and grandchildren. He was a kind hearted man, who would do anything for a friend in need. Through out his time here on Earth he touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:00 am

Family and friends wishing to join the procession will meet at Olive Baptist Church (Warrington Campus) at 10:30 am.
