Obituary of Stephen Daniel Matthews

Stephen Daniel Matthews (Scuba Steve) , 39 years, of Holt, Florida has passed away to be with his Lord on Monday May 1, 2023. 

Stephen was born on August 8, 1983, in Milton, Florida.  

Stephen worked as a carpenter for residential construction, and has built many homes for many familes.

Stephen is survived by his daughter, Leigha; mother, Sandra Byerly; brother, Raymond Matthews; sister, Amanda Matthews; and sister, Cheyenne Byerly.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, James Daniel Matthews; grandmother, Elsie Ward; and brother, James Dewey Matthews.

Stephen was known for his kind loving personality, and sweet smile.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh with his coney jokes, he also enjoyed the water and spending time with his family.  He loved music and watching movies.  Stephen was proud of his work as a carpenter and always put his heart into every project. 

Stephen will be deeply missed by his family and friends, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved very much.

Friends received at Stephen's Life Celebration Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 101 Mary Esther Boulevard, Mary Esther, Florida 32569, 850-226-4240, where funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM.
