Obituary of Daniel Jules Paré
Daniel J. Pare´ passed away on May 28, 2023 at the age of 92 in Pensacola, FL. He was born Joseph Jules Daniel Pare´ on New Year’s Day 1931 in Central Falls, RI to the late Aristade and Marie Ange Lambert Pare´. He grew up in the Catholic faith which was an important factor throughout his life. After graduating high school, Dan joined the US Air Force as a Flight Line Mechanic. His military tours with the 86th Fighter-Bomber Wing, the “Raiders” took him to such places as Libya, Italy and Germany. After retiring from military service as an Airman 1st Class, Dan married Therese Hamel on September 3, 1955 in Pawtucket, RI. Together, they were blessed with five children, three sons and two daughters.
Dan was employed as a US Navy civilian aircraft mechanic at NAS Quonset Point, RI and worked there until he transferred in 1973 due to base closure. He then moved his family from Rhode Island to Pensacola, FL to work at NADEP, NAS Pensacola. Dan was dedicated to his job and worked for the Navy until his retirement in 1989.
After the death of Therese in 1979, Dan met Dolores Gambill in 1980 and the two were married on June 19, 1982, blending their two families. Dan had a lifelong love of golf, a sport that he played with vigor and passion, which led them to live in The Villages, FL for 20 years. He also enjoyed square dancing for many years and was an avid Red Sox fan. Dan loved time with his family and traveling to visit grandchildren or having them visit him.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Dolores; his children: Ronald Pare´ (Karla), Suzanne Pare´, Denise (Jackie) Pare´ Hoopes, Roland (Paul) Pare´ (Denise) and Robert (Charlie) Pare´. Dolores’ children: Raymond Gambill (Barbara), Clayton Gambill, Dana Burba (Hank), and Melanie Gambill; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles Pare´, Fernand Pare´ and his sister Gisele Pare´ Almeida.
Private services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held June 12, 2023 from 1:00 - 3:00pm at Family-Funeral and Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503.
