Diana McGuffie

Obituary of Diana Lynn Terrell McGuffie

Diana Lynn Terrell McGuffie went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 29th, 2023 in Jackson, Mississippi, surrounded by her four children.

Diana was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Donald Wesley Terrell and Lunette Campbell Terrell on March 28, 1955.  Diana spent her childhood playing games with her three younger sisters and traveling to visit family around the country. Diana was blessed later in life with the addition of two younger brothers that grew up alongside her children.

Diana attended Mississippi College and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She enjoyed her career in nursing and took pride in caring for people.  Her most immense joy in life was becoming a mother to four children.  She was very proud of each of them, and she raised and loved them with her whole heart.  She passed down her love of cooking and celebrating traditions! It was evident that Christmas was her favorite holiday as she made them memorable.  She also did her best to instill that God and family come first.  Diana accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1979 and was baptized by immersion in 1994.  She was a true believer with a strong faith in the Lord and often spent time studying God's word.

Later in life, Diana enjoyed working in the legal field as a medical consultant.  She also got the bug for genealogy and researching her family heritage.  She was definitely the go-to person when you had any questions about our ancestors.  Diana was an eloquent writer, a talent inherited from her mother and shared with her youngest sister.  Her other special interests included camping with her children and friends and family reunions at Pensacola Beach.  Diana's grandchildren were her whole world and she treasured time with them and teaching them life lessons and so many wonderful things she had to share.

Diana was preceded in death by her father and hero, Captain Donald W. Terrell, and her stepfather, Dr. E. J. Sacks.

She is survived by her beautiful mother, Lynn, and her sweet stepmother, Kaaren.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her four children, Megan Terrell (John), Lauren Ellington (Joe), Blair Whitney McGuffie, Daniel Ryan McGuffie (Natalie).  She also leaves behind four grandchildren, one great grandson, three sisters, two brothers and a host of nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a service immediately following from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Family Funeral and Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503.  The family would also like to express sincere thanks to Sebrell Funeral Home of Ridgeland, MS.

The family asks, in place of flowers, to consider donating to the Wounded Warrior Project or Mended Hearts.
