Gail Pratt Thomas

Our dear wife and mother, Gail Pratt Thomas, of Gulf Breeze, FL, journeyed to heaven on July,
7, 2023, after many months of failing health. Gail, age 85, was born in Montgomery, Alabama,
June 5, to Loren Lee Pratt, also known as Junior, and Grace Nichols (Pratt) Boozer. She
attended Sidney Lanier High School and married her high school sweetheart, Ronnye B. Thomas
at the age of 19, on June 29, 1957.
Together Ronnye and Gail had two children, Ronnye P. Thomas and T. Todd Thomas. Ronnye P.
was born in North Carolina in 1959. In 1962 they moved to Mobile, AL, where Todd was born.
After a few years the family relocated to Gulf Breeze, FL where Gail lived the duration of her
life.
Gail was preceded in death by her beloved Mother and Father and her devoted Sister, Sandra
Pratt Boozer.
Survivors include her Husband, Ronnye B. Thomas, her two loving sons Ronnye (Dedra) and
Todd (Melissa Eckart and her daughter Samantha Schiaffino); grandchildren Garrett Thomas
and Taylor Thomas, two great grandchildren, Jaxton and Colby, niece, Bonnie B. Vail (Christian),
nephew Thomas S. Boozer (Sarah), great nieces Stella Vail and Hayes Vail, great nephews
Thomas and Cameron Boozer, dear lifelong friends and cousins, Gail and John LeRoy and a
multitude of cousins and friends.
Gail will be greatly missed by many. She was a loving wife and mother who always put her
family first. She was a member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church for many years and
later in life she enjoyed attending Worship at the Water with Pastor Jack Kale. She had an
impact on all who knew her due to her loving and kind personality. Gail was in the banking
industry her entire professional life. She volunteered for the Pensacola International Billfish
Tournament for several decades and was a member of the Women’s Pensacola Billfish Club.
She cherished being with her family. She was an avid gardener and was happiest when she was
on a beach, a boat or fishing. She was in awe of nature, especially her flowers and dogs and the
birds that visited her daily.
A celebration of her life will be held, July 22, 2023 with visitation at 10am and a service
following at 11am at Pensacola Beach Community Church.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Escambia County Animal Shelter.
