Obituary of Phyllis Lucille Kercher

Phyllis Lucille Phelps Kercher, 73, of Pensacola, FL, passed away Saturday, July 29th, 2023. Phyllis was born to Ramon Eugene Phelps Sr. and Cubie Lucille Stephenson Phelps on April 26th, 1950.
After graduating from Pensacola Technical High School, she joined the Army National Guard where she served her country for four years. With a servant’s heart, she served her community for more than 20 years as a lieutenant in the Beulah Volunteer Fire Department. She forged her career in the medical field as an insurance coordinator, retiring from Southern Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in 2018. She was an avid sports fan with her favorite football team being The Alabama Crimson Tide.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Ramon & Cubie Phelps, and brothers Ramon Phelps Jr and Phillip Phelps.
She is survived by her cherished son and daughter in law Kenneth and Melissa Kercher, the light of her life, her granddaughter Veronica “Roni” Kercher, her brother and sister-in-law William and Madalyn Phelps, sister in law Theresa Phelps, and bonus sisters Beth McGowan, Linda Melton, and Kathy Booker. She is also survived by numerous family and friends. She was especially fond of her grand pups LT, Leia, and Oliver.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff of DeLuna Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
