Obituary of John Alexander Lagrone

John Alexander LaGrone Sr passed away on July 28, 2023. John was the beloved
husband of Elizabeth and father of John Alexander LaGrone Jr. and Jeffrey Neil
LaGrone. John was born on September 8, 1946 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Jean Lanace
and Frances Sutherland LaGrone. He grew up in Ft. Worth, where he was a
graduate of Paschal High School. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan University
with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, then attended Texas Christian
University in the Masters of Business program. In 1966 he married Judy Herring.
They had two sons, John Jr. in 1971 and Jeffrey in 1975.
John and Judy embarked on a successful career in the modeling and talent
industry, first at John Robert Powers and later as the owners of JLC Omni Media.
Elizabeth helped continue that success until their retirement on Lake Martin,
Alabama. They recently returned to Pensacola, Fl. John was a proud member of
Lake Martin Amateur Radio Club. He enjoyed watching football and playing games
with his family.
John is preceded in death by his father, J.L. Lagrone; his mother, Frances S.
LaGrone; his first wife, Judy LaGrone; sister, Liz Sherrell; brother, David LaGrone
and daughter-in-law Brenda Kaye LaGrone.
John is survived by: his wife of 19 years, Elizabeth LaGrone of Pensacola, FL; son
John Jr. of Blanding, UT; son Jeffrey LaGrone of Pace, FL; step-daughter, Wendi
Summers; step-son, Christopher Taylor, both of Pensacola and his beloved
grandchildren, Nicholas, Darin, Samantha, Rhiannon, Skyler and Gavin.
