Obituary of Jim Thurber

Jim (Kenneth James) Thurber, at age 78, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2023.
Jim was born in Wabeno, WI on April 5th 1945, to Donald Joseph and Cecelia Marie Thurber.
Jim was the loving husband of his wife Alyce Thurber.

Jim’s Occupations included Lumberjack, Truck driver, Cook and all-around Handy Man. Jim was
well known and loved in his communities as he received 2 plaques for heroism. Additionally,
Jim was known for his award-winning holiday floats in which he portrayed Santa Claus. Jim was
an avid gardener, with his love of azaleas and plum trees being well known to his family and
friends. He was an amazing cook. Jim could fix just about anything and was always helping
family, friends and his community. At the age 14 Jim received a horse named Rudy for his
Birthday. This started his love for being a cowboy. In his final days he enjoyed bingo, being out
on the patio and watching his westerns.

Montonati – Daughter, Jayelynn, Kyelynn, Taevin, and Addalynn  – Grandchildren, Richard

Brother, Linda Ciuplinski – Sister, Micheal Thurber – Brother, Joanne (Rick) Winter – Sister,

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Riverside
Cemetery in Appleton, WI.
