Obituary of Dennis Lee Brueggemeier

Dennis (Denny) Lee Brueggemeier, 70, of Pensacola, FL, died peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at his home.  He was born on December 17, 1952, to Wayne and Alice (Sander) Brueggemeier in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Eastwood High School, Pemberville, OH, in 1970.  He obtained his B.S. degree in chemistry from Miami University, Oxford, OH, in 1974.

 

Denny began his career as a chemist for Champion International, a large paper and wood products producer, in Hamilton, OH, in 1974.  He continued with Champion International with a transfer to Asheville, NC, in 1979 and then a transfer in 1986 to Pensacola, FL.  He retired from International Paper.  He enjoyed regularly playing golf with friends at Stonebrook Golf Club, watching sports on TV, and reading news stories on his computer.  In recent years, he enjoyed traveling to national parks and visiting family in Ohio.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two brothers, Robert (Susan), Dublin, OH, and Glen (Viki), Cincinnati, OH; sister, Connie (Brian) Wagner, Hilliard, OH; and seven nieces and nephews.

 

A private family burial will be held at a future date in Webster Township Cemetery in Scotch Ridge, OH.  Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
