Obituary of Clara Margaret Reed

Clara Margaret (Sue) Reed (West), loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed quietly in her sleep after a brief illness on September 5th, 2023at home with her family by her side, she was 81. Clara was born October, 16th 1941 in Alva, Oklahoma to Edith Thelma Wilkinson (West) and Eddie Ray West. She had been a resident of Pensacola since 1994, when she moved from Enid, OK to be with her daughter and grandchildren.

Clara grew up and attended school in Alva Oklahoma. She met Clarence Leland Reed and they married, moved to Virginia to begin her new life as a military wife. She then moved to Alameda, CA and married, Richard Fuller, living a Navy wife’s career before moving to Las Vegas NV, for the next 7 years. Clara made a life for her and her daughter as a blackjack dealer before deciding to go home to Oklahoma to be with her family, and remarried the love of her life Clarence Leland Reed.

She worked in several nursing homes as a CNA over the next 5 years and working as a server at the Wagon Wheel Cafe in Enid, Oklahoma. She then decided to go to school for her dream job of being a truck driver.

Clara is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Leland Reed; both parents; 6 brothers; 3 sisters; and 2 loving best friends, Doris Parker and Alice Faye Ashcraft.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzzan Annette (Reed) Jones & Suzzan's husband Michael Wayne Jones; grandchildren: Shawnna Dawn Peaks, and her spouse Tony Peaks, Richard Henry Kyle Reed & his spouse Erica May (Garcia) Reed, Kellie Renee (Jones) Spann and her spouse, Joey Spann & Michael Shane Jones, & his spouse, Danielle (Davis) Jones; great-grandchildern: Kaylasue Annette (Wahl) Schubert & spouse Anthony Schubert, Brandon Ray Parker, Lindsay Laverne Starr, Derek Isaiah Starr, Brittany Dawn Starr, Kyle Caden Reed, Eric Leland Reed, Jeremiah Rayqwan (Lipsco) Reed, Jasmine Marcella Reed, Elliott Colin Spann, Brianna Elise Spann and Reagan Marie Jones; great-great-grandchildren: Ava Mae Kendrick, Eli Michael Kendrick, Anna Marie Schubert, Brayden Ray Edward Parker, Lyla Rae Marie Parker, Marleyjane Serinity Peaks, Knowledgeamir Anthony Jerome Mallory; several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and they loved her; with many friends throughout Oklahoma and Florida.

The family will have a private visitation and will then receive friends at Family-Funeral & Cremation (5267 N. Davis Hwy) at 10:30AM on Friday, September 15, 2023. A Celebration of  Life service will immediately follow at 11:30AM with Minister Leslie Clayborn officiating.
