Obituary of Jerry Lester May

Jerry L. May, 72, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away unexpectedly due to illness
on 10/2/2023.
Jerry was born in England, Arkansas on 08/23/1951 to his parents Walter Winfred
May and Flossie Lee Stewart May.
He graduated from England High School in 1969. He went on to graduate from
State College of Arkansas in 1973 and also earned a Master of Science in
Education from Arkansas State University in 1980. His career of 30 years in
education finished as Dean of Business and Computers in 2006 at Northwest
Arkansas Community College.
He was preceded in death by his father Walter Winfred May, mother Flossie Lee
May, brother Tommy May, brother Walter Lee May and sister Mary Joyce Little.
He is survived by his spouse of seven years Joey Weaver, son Ben May (Danielle),
son Aaron May (Ronda), two grandchildren Pheonix May and Sage May, brother
Ralph May (Sandra), sisters Carolyn May, Annette Cothern (Jackie Don), Patsy
Jacob (Allen), Bessie May Hampton (Mike), and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry had so many accomplishments to be proud of. He was an outstanding
husband and father, scout leader, and teacher. Most of all he was so caring, kind,
and generous. He had unlimited patience teaching and helping anyone who
needed him. He was an avid reader, great builder, outstanding gardener and
photographer. His talents and heart will be missed by all who knew him.
There are no services planned at this time.

His favorite scripture was Psalm 23 – The Lord is My Shepherd, and his favorite
spiritual was ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus’.
