Obituary of Daniel Anthony Carapellucci
Daniel A. Carapellucci
October 28, 1946 – October 7, 2023
Daniel A. Carapellucci, age, 76, recently of Pensacola FL and formerly of Tucson, AZ and Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2023 in the loving arms of his wife Annette Humphreys Carapellucci and his sister, Arlene Carmichael. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews who thank him for making it to heaven in time to oversee the Pittsburgh Steelers October 8th win over the Ravens! In addition to the Steelers, Dan loved cooking, golfing, his dogs (always named Carnaby) and his alma mater, Villanova University.
Dan spent 25 years managing D. Carapellucci Company, creating a proud legacy of buildings, roadways and utility projects throughout Western Pennsylvania. Dan worked his way from laborer to president of this 83-year-old family construction business and became a state and national leader in the industry as President of the Pennsylvania Utility Contractor’s Association (1983, 1984, 1986) and as a board member of the National Association (1982-1990).
After departing the family business Dan joined the real estate industry in 1991 where he was able to capitalize on his extensive expertise in business, construction and property development. His tenacity in closing challenging deals earned him a nickname from his colleagues, Miracle Man Dan! In his first two years in real estate, Dan saw great value in continuing education and took so many classes that he was recruited as a real estate educator, earning the Distinguished Real Estate Instructor designation. He continued his real estate sales and education career after moving to Tucson in 1993, serving as a quite popular educator and, in 2005, as the President of the Tucson Association of Realtors.
Dan was passionate with his love, crazy with his humor and proud of his curly locks! He will be missed for a long time because he cannot be forgotten!
Special thanks to the response personnel at Escambia County Fire Department, Station 2, Beulah and to the nurses of VITAS Hospice who provided dignity, competence, and beautiful care; in particular to Leeanne, who made him laugh and feel alive and loved.
Services will be held 10:00am, October 12, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 9945 Hillview Drive, Pensacola, FL. Dress is golf attire casual, or a t-shirt with pocket, per Dan’s dress code.
