Obituary of Ruthmary Ann (Miki) Swenson

Ruthmary Ann “Miki” Swenson sadly passed away on 10/10/2023 in Pensacola, FL under the
compassionate care of the staff at the Specialty Select Hospital while recovering from complications of a
heart attack. She was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on 4-1-1944 and was the oldest of four children
born to Max and Rosalie Swenson. She received a business degree in accounting and during her 40-year
professional career worked for several large companies and clinics as a comptroller and later was self
employed as a tax accountant. She lived the majority of her life in Tulsa, OK and spent the last several
years in retirement in Florida. She was an avid animal activist and supported and contributed to several
cat rescue groups in Tulsa, OK.
She is survived by two brothers: Max (Carol) of Tulsa, OK and Rex (Jody) of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and a
sister, Patti Swenson-Abraham (David) of Niceville, FL , a nephew Brian Swenson, Tulsa, OK, her 3 nieces:
Sondra Ramer (Jacob) of Rapid City, S.D., Elisa Abraham Hahn ( Jason) of Louisville, KY, & Salie Abraham
of Crestview, FL; and her 3 grandnephews: Elliot and Sammy (Sondra) and Harrison (Elisa), as well as by
her cousins: Judy Tillson of Edina, MN and Barbara Cunningham of Kalispel, MT.
Miki was a wonderful sister, close friend, loving aunt and a compassionate caring soul who was always
willing to help and support both people and animals in need. She will be sorely missed.
A Memorial service will be held later in Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local Pet
Rescue Group.
