Obituary of Amy Lynn Owen

Amy L. Owen of Pensacola, Florida went to be with the Lord peacefully in her home on the morning of Monday November 20th, 2023 at 7:41am. Amy was born in Mattoon, Illinois on May 9th, 1969 (54) to Larry G. Owen and Kathy J. Glover. She was a proud daughter of her father, Marine Corp Veteran. She attended Sullivan High-School and graduated with her class in 1987. In school she played basketball, volleyball, and was also proud to be an assistant coach on Jasmeen and Valencia’s Volleyball team. Throughout her life, Amy  worked at Jibbys, Walmart, Delta Fitness, and more. Schnucks, Casey’s, and Bagelhead's are where she enjoyed baking!

Amy’s calling for life was to be a peace-maker and care for others. She was a youth leader at the First Baptist Church of Smithton, Illinois, but was also a home care-giver. 

Amy is survived by her loving children: Courtney Ohm of Crestview FL, Preston Ullah of Pensacola FL, Valencia (Mark) Sims of Pensacola, FL, Jasmeen Ullah of Pensacola, FL, Keaton Ullah of Pensacola, FL, her brother Jeremy (Wanda) Owen of Belvidere, IL, and her sister, Lisa (Gary) Carter of Tuckerman, AR. She is also survived by her nieces: Emily, Madelyn, and Brandi. 

She is preceded in death by her first born Cody Ohm, her parents Larry(Lynn) Owen, Kathy(Billy) Glover, her Grandparents Dona and Charles Coy, Uncle Ron Coy, and nephew Clinton Kyle Carter. 

Amy was a loving free spirit. She enjoyed anything to do with nature. Whether it was watching dolphins, hiking up to mountains and waterfalls, watching her favorite scenery of Gods Son-Shine and Sunsets over the ocean, or attending church and listening to sermons.

Most importantly, Amy’s most prideful reason of life, were the company of all of her kids in one place together, playing games and laughing around the table. Amy was a strong fighter, the mother of 6 blessed children, who she supported dearly with any passion they had.

Her heart full of love will be greatly missed by all.

The family will be having a small celebration of life memorial service on Friday, December 15th, 2023 in Sullivan, Illinois where her closest family/friends are able to attend.
