Obituary of Margaret Mary Johnson

Margaret Mary Johnson, 69, of Pensacola sadly and unexpectedly left us on Monday, December 18th, 2023.  Margaret was born to Gene Devane and Marie Devane in Chicago, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her brother, Tommy, and her beloved husband, Fred S. Johnson Jr.  Left behind to cherish her memory are: her sisters, Jeanne de Quay and Anne Devane; her children, Scott Dias, Jennifer Barton, and Heidi Buechner; her step-children, Wendy  Diamond, Jennifer Johnson, Jessica Seely; and her treasured grandchildren, Rue, Riley, Gabe, Elliot, Noa, Vivian, and Bianca; and step-grandchildren, Spencer, Fred, Katie and Claire.

Margaret was an amazing and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved being a “Nana” and took great pride in her children and grandchildren.  She was happiest spending time with her family, playing mahjong with a group of dear friends every Monday, singing in the choir with The Choral Society of Pensacola, or catching a Chicago Cubs game on the radio, television, or especially in person in the stands at Wrigley Field.  Margaret had a successful and fulfilling career as a medical coding auditor, working remotely for Logan Health based in Kalispell, Montana into her last week of life.  Coworkers in Montana described her as having a personality that equally matched the sunshine state she lived in.  Throughout her time here on Earth, she touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

In place of a funeral service, Margaret wished for a celebration of life on the beach, which is being planned by her children.  Family and friends will be notified when plans are set for this celebration.
