Obituary of Mary Margaret Salinas
Mary M. Salinas, 87, of Milton, Florida passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. Mary had been a resident of Northwest Florida since 1971.
Mary was born March 14, 1936 in Clarksville, Tennessee to Douglas and Dorothy Thornhill. Mary was a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) who began with a pediatric office, and later Fort Campbell Army Medical Center, Sacred Heart Hospital and retired from Naval Hospital Pensacola. Mary loved to sew and quilt. She spent many hours around her sewing machine creating quilts for others, many made for the annual Escambia Christian School auctions. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, entertaining at their home on the water and tending to her flowers. Mary was a faithful member of Margaret St. Church of Christ.
Mary is survived by her children, Debbie (Randy) Hill, Jeffrey Phillips, David (Shawn) Phillips; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Craig) Cooper, Audrey (Rick) Harter, Emily Beatty, Frank (Danielle) Phillips, Caleb (Crystal) Phillips, and Tyler Brogan; great grandchildren, Kyle Harter, Jasmine Beatty, Jackson Cooper, Hastings, Samantha, June, Cassidy, Piper, Georgia, Caleb Jr and Jack Phillips. She also had many life-long friends she kept in touch with.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rafael Salinas and brother, Douglas Thornhill.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Margret Street Church of Christ, 6745 Margaret St, Milton, FL 32570.
