Obituary of Sheila Hanner Colston

Sheila Hanner Colston, 72, passed away suddenly on January 1, 2024. She was born on September 13, 1951, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and was one of four girls raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas, by parents Austin and Wilma Hanner. After graduating high school, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of living amongst the beaches of the Gulf Coast, which is now her final resting place.

 

One of her many dreams was to finish college, to which she accomplished by obtaining an Associate’s in Paralegal Studies as well as an Associate’s in Business Administration. Sheila spent many years working for local banks and credit unions in the Pensacola area and later became a paralegal. She would argue, however, that her greatest accomplishments were her two children. In her spare time, Sheila spent many of her years riding a Harley Davidson, hosting parties pool-side, and forever making unforgettable memories with dear friends and family.

 

She is survived by her two children, Zachary W. Colston and Sydney Colston, two grandchildren Zachary F. Colston and Tessa Banks, sisters Sonya Hanner and Nancy Garrison, as well as niece and nephews Samantha Galster, Christopher Mosher, Gabe Hannahs and their families. She also leaves behind her favorite furry-friend, Stanley T. Colston.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Austin Zach Hanner and Wilma Irene Lowe Hanner and sister Sherryl Kyzer.

 

The family will hold a small, private ceremony on Monday, January 8, 2024.
