Obituary of Dennis Stephen Goff

Dennis Goff, 73, a native of Brownsfield, LA, passed away on February 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with ALS. Dennis was a graduate of Baker High School.  Dennis was a faithful man of God, dedicated husband, loving father, and beloved Paw-Paw.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, high school sweetheart, and best friend, Denise Messer Goff, son, Eric Goff, daughter and son-in-law, Meredith and Steven Pitard, grandchildren Tristyn, Ivy, Carter, and Chloe Pitard, sister Laura (Mark) Farwell, brothers Rodney (Tina) McKissick and Darrell (Lisa) McKissick, brother-in-law, Rodney (Engrid) Messer, sister-in-laws, Debra Simmons, Beth Porche, and Kalinin Messer, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Dennis is preceded in death by granddaughter Alaura Pitard, custodial grandparents Clyde and Annie Laura Goff, beloved father-in-law and mother-in-law, Murphy and Blanche Messer, stepfather and mother, Buster and Eleanor Goff McKissick, brother, Jonny McKissick, brother-in-laws Rickye Messer and Wayne Simmons, and his loyal best good boy, Chachi. Dennis was a member of the Local 198 Pipefitters and Steamfitters, a Corvette enthusiast, drummer, owner of Deep South Wrestling, and a senior software engineer.

A memorial service will be held on March 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Blackwater United Methodist Church (10000 Blackwater Road, Baker, LA).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the ALS Foundation (als.org) in Dennis's name.
