Obituary of Irene Jacqueline Palaima

Irene Jaqueline Stevens Palaima, aged 94 years young, reached the glorious gates
of heaven after a long and well lived life. Irene enjoyed her family, friends and
living her faith every day. She was always the brightest smile in the room and the
best secret keeper. She made friends wherever she went, was never judgmental
and had the patience of a saint. In her later years, Irene loved spending her
summer days reclining in her comfortable chair on the deck in Edgartown, MA
and in Pensacola, FL during the winter.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Walter Palaima and her daughter Linda
Cotton. She is survived by her loving daughters: Nancy Palaima and her wife Kris
Bright of Pensacola, FL; Diane Kempner and her husband Bill Kempner of Roslyn
Heights, NY; and Susan Thibodeau and her husband John Thibodeau of
Newburyport, MA and Edgartown, MA. She is also survived by her
granddaughters: Esq. Tracey Harding and her husband Rick Harding of
Dunstable, MA; Jennifer Thibodeau and her husband Thomas Scanlon of Salt Lake,
UT and Dr. Lara Thibodeau and her husband Dr. Garret Johnson of Durham, NC.
She also leaves behind one grandson, David Kempner of Tampa, FL and one great
granddaughter Kimmie Harding of Newark, NJ. In addition to her beloved human
family, she leaves behind a host of fluffy tailed grand dogs: Tanner, Trevor,
Harold, Burton, Tristan, Altair and Benton.
Irene will be dearly missed – she was a beautiful and loving soul. She would want
you to remember her when you feel the warmth of the sunshine on your face and
the smell of a fragrant summer rose. Count your blessings everyday and always
tell those you love just how much they mean to you. Rest in eternal peace dear
Mom, Nanny and Great Nanny. Dance up a storm in heaven!
