Obituary of Richard Michael Cullison, SR
Richard Michael Cullison Sr., 69, of Pensacola, passed away on April 8, 2024, following complications after surgery.
Richard was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 16, 1954. He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1972 and attended Harford Community College for one semester prior to joining the United States Navy in January 1973 and serving as an Aviation Electronics Technician with VS- 28 at Cecil Field, Florida, deploying onboard the USS America, and with the Electronics Calibration Lab at NAS Bermuda until September 1980. He then joined the Federal Civil Service and worked at the Naval Air Rework Facility at NAS Pensacola until it closed and then transferred to the Naval Aviation Depot in Cherry Point, North Carolina. He retired after more than 20 years of Civil Service and returned to Pensacola to be closer to his children.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Frances McGinnis, his father, Richard Clement Cullison, and his stepfather, Theodore Augustus Moore.
He is survived by his children Mary Cullison, Richard Cullison, Jr., and Steven Cullison, his grandchildren Nicole Gentry and Elijah Cullison, his sisters Donna Cullison Wasilewski and Linda Cullison Gross, his aunts Marge Bollman and Shirley Morrison, nieces Tracy Rutter and Tara Harris, nephew Aaron Fout, many cousins who loved him, his good friend Mike Evans, his friend and former wife Cheryl Sackman, and his beloved feline companion, Sonny.
