Obituary of Gary Daniel York

Gary Daniel York, 34, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on April 20,
2024. Gary was a lifelong resident of Pensacola who loved the beach,
surfing and fishing. Gary loved his family and would make a point to tell
them that he loved and appreciated them as often as possible,
sometimes with a hug or a special nickname. He had a passion for
cooking and always shared his meals with love. Gary had a kind and
emphatic spirit, and his quick wit brought joy to those around him.
Gary had a constant champion Kilo, his American Pitbull Terrier, who he
adored and treasured. During adolescence, he excelled in Go Kart
Racing, achieving success in state championships and local races. As a
young Boy Scout, Gary and his dad shared many scouting adventures.
Gary will be deeply missed by his parents, extended family, and friends.
He is survived by his parents, David and Sue York of Pensacola, who
raised him with unconditional faith, love and support; his uncles and
aunts, Doug (Janet) York of Pensacola; Debbie (Roger) Martin, of
Asheville, NC; Lee Adkins of Huntsville; Linda Greer of Birmingham, AL;
Trish Adkins of Talladega, AL, as well as cousins and friends who greatly
love him.
Waiting for him at the Door to Heaven were his grandparents, David A.
and Elizabeth York; Clarence and Christine Adkins, his uncles David
Adkins, John Adkins, Michael Greer; aunt Lois Adkins and Kilo jumping
for joy.
A memorial service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on Saturday,
April 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will take
place prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. The services will be
conducted at Family Funeral and Cremation located at 5697 N. Davis
Hwy, Pensacola, FL.

Gary's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory and the impact he had on those around

him will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
