Obituary of Robert William Matheny

Robert William Matheny, SR, 79, of Pensacola, FL, was called to heaven on May 1, 2024

He was born in Goodway, AL on August 2, 1944 to Gladys and Theodore Matheny. Robert attended Pensacola High School, where he excelled in football and baseball, before going to work at Gilmore moving and Storage where he worked for over 40 years. He enjoyed the races and made many friends when he attended them. Robert will be dearly missed and remembered.

Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert William Matheny JR, his second wife, Phyllis (d.2012), and his first wife, Carolyn (d. 2002), his mother and father, his brothers Alvin, James. His sisters, Annie Jean and Margaret.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Angela, and grandson, Aden. His brothers Frank and Cameron and his sister Katherine. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Robert requested a celebration of life be held as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Roberts’s loved ones and friends to join us in celebrating his beautiful life at Family-Funeral & Cremation 5627 N. Davis Hwy Pensacola FL 32503 on May 24, 2024 from 6-8 P.M
