My heart is broken in losing my best friend in life. Rusty and I met at Tn Tech while getting our geology degrees. I could not have made it through the program without his support and help. We hit it off from the moment we met and were inseparable since then. We were both so proud when we graduated that we stood on a busy street corner in our caps and gowns for 30 minutes waving at all the cars that drove by. I am grateful his pain is over and he is now living the good life. I love you brother and miss you deeply. RIP sweet friend.

I remember Rusty well. We had several classes together and he was always so kind and fun to be around. He was my escort for the Harvest Festival one year. I believe his gentle and kind spirit carried him far in life. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am so grateful to have met Mr Rusty my Nova's pots I'm so grateful that they welcome he welcomed my son Will Hill with open arms and gave him his Blessing to marry his Daughter Megan... By him giving his blessings I received an amazing daughter n Law and our sweet little Nova.. Rusty accepted and lovedy son as one of his on.. I will ALWAYS be Grateful for that from him.... RIP Rusty aka Pops you will be Truly missed... Sleep with The Angels until we meet again... ❤️

As the mother of his children I can honestly say he was a great father to Alex, Megan, & Sara, & our two grands will certainly miss their Pops. It was hard seeing you suffer this past year with esophageal cancer. Thank you for allowing me & Perry to help with your recovery after your surgery & staying in our home for a brief time. You will be greatly missed, but forever in our hearts.

When we were younger, I remember driving to the beach and Rusty fully committed to helping us scare Alex who was sleeping. He slammed on the breaks swerving a little while we all screamed. He always loved to have fun with his kids and their friends and was always laughing with us. I feel like for several years, I grew up as a part time sister.
