Obituary of Merrel C Solomon

Merrel "Tommy" C. Solomon, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 22nd, 2024.  Born on September 17, 1933 in Frisco City, AL, he served 2 years in the National Guard then devoted 1957-1959 to the US Army. Thomas was especially proud of being a part of training the US Army Rangers. 

After his honorable discharge, he continued his career at Chemstrand, later known as Monsanto where he retired after many years. After this retirement, Thomas worked at West Florida Hospital for 14 years.

Beyond his professional and military life, he was passionate about several personal interests. In earlier years, Thomas loved to bowl, roller skate, and canoe local rivers. His love for reading religious, political, and self-help books was of profound interest for Thomas. He loved to "jawbone" and share with others what he read. He also loved to cut the grass on his acreage in Walnut Hill.  He is survived by his son Byron "Tom" Solomon, 

his daughter  Sonia  "Lisa " Larsen (Rusty)and mother of his children, Linda Melton Spriggs.

Graveside service is August 5, 2024 at 11:30 Barrancas National Cemetery.
