Obituary of George Edward Drounette

George Edward "Eddie" Drounette, age 62, of Destin, FL, passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2024. Born on November 21, 1961, in Beaumont, TX, Eddie spent his early years there before moving to Florida, where he embraced the coastal lifestyle.

Eddie graduated from Charlton-Pollard High School in Beaumont in 1979 and had a successful career spanning over three decades as a cable and phone/internet technician in both Texas and Florida. He was known for his dedication to his work and his ability to solve any technical issue.

A man of many passions, Eddie's love for the emerald waters of the Gulf Coast was evident through his favorite hobby of photography. He often captured the stunning sunsets and serene shorelines of Florida, sharing these moments with friends and family. Eddie never met a stranger and had the unique ability to make everyone around him smile.

Eddie is survived by his loving partner of twenty-two years, Angie Griffith, younger brother, Kevin Drounette and his wife, Beth; his sister, Terry Drounette; and a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Patsy Drounette, and his brother, Ricky Drounette.

A celebration of his life will held by his family at a later date. Eddie's life was a testament to his love for his family and the natural beauty around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We'll hold on to the loving memories and as Eddie would say, "see you on the other side."
