Obituary of Cynthia Karen Reedy

Cynthia was called home on the morning of July, 22, 2024, peacefully succumbing to her terminal illness.  Though she spent the majority of her life in Michigan, Cindy spent her final eight months of her life residing near her family in Florida, spending quality time getting to know her great grandchildren.  They enjoyed playing together and they affectionately came to know her as GG.  

Cindy was born in Detroit, Michigan on January, 20, 1942 to Irene Ciezynski and Alloysius Kowalczyk.  Cindy married the love of her life Ralph Edward Reedy in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on May, 1, 1965.   Mother of 4, (Ralph, Micheale, Kimberly, and Randy.)  Grandmother of 11, (Lucas, Stephanie, Kenny, Rachel, Samantha, Elizabeth, Andrew, Julia, Ian, Quinn, and Katanya.) Great Grandmother of 4, (Jude, Ezra, Calvin, and Harrison.)  

Cindy is survived by her sister Anastasia and sons Ralph Jr and Randall.  She is proceeded in death by her mother and father (Irene, Alloysius); her brother (Alloysius ); her sister (Felice); her husband (Ralph Sr.); and her daughters (Micheale, Kimberly).  

Cindy lived her life with common sense, determination, and clarity of purpose that was endearing to any who came in contact with her.   Her unshakable trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord was demonstrated in one of her comments during her final days.   “I don’t understand why Jesus is keeping me here so long.”  She passed 4 days later.  In Cindy’s final thoughts, she shared her pride for all of her children and sincere gratitude to and for her friends and family. 

Celebration of Life service in Florida will be held at Fairfield Presbyterian Church, 410 S. Fairfield Drive, Pensacola, FL on August, 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM.  Reception to follow service.

Celebration of Life service in Michigan will be held at Friendship Church, 1240 N. Beck, Canton, MI on September, 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM.  Reception to follow service.
