Obituary of Sybil Jane Hobbs

Sybil (Sybie) Hobbs of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on the 23rd of July 2024. She was born in Mobile, AL on 18 Oct 1946 to Jack Burke and Mary Edith (Gwin) Holland. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, AL. Sybie was currently employed with BAE Systems, where she worked for 15 years. She was highly regarded as an integral part of the BAE family. They will miss her gifts of candy! Prior to BAE Systems, she was the Crisis Hotline/Rape Center Supervisor for 6 years. She worked for Tybrin, Tracor, and Vitro Services. She was the Executive Coordinator at Chapel 2 on Eglin AFB for several years. She loved to write and spend time with her beloved cats, Harley and Baby. Sybie was a contributor to many charities close to her heart.

Sybie is survived by her son, Burke Hobbs of Elba, AL; sister, Kathy (Holland) Bowden (Jim) of Valparaiso, FL; stepmother, Mary Frances Holland; stepsister, Pat Cone (Gene) all of Prattville, AL; Niece, Heather (Ferance) Dupree (Greg); great niece, Adelynn, all of Milton, FL; Niece, Colette Lain; great niece(s),Katie Rae and Julia; great nephew, Aaron Lain, all of Austin, TX. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Burke Holland; mother, Mary Edith Gwin Holland; sister, Edith Gwin Smith. She was loved by many close friends and neighbors who helped so much during her extended illness.
