Obituary of Paul David Gardenhire
Chief Warrant Officer, Paul D Gardenhire, 60 of Ft Walton Beach, Florida, went to be with his Lord on August 11, 2024. He passed peacefully in Destin, Florida.
He was born in Athens,Texas on December 27, 1963 to Ira Neff Gardenhire and Doris Sue Gardenhire. He graduated from Athens High School in 1982 and soon after began his distinguished career in the US Army.
Over his 29 years of service, he became an acclaimed Blackhawk pilot serving in strategic locations to include Panama, South Korea, and Afghanistan. His expertise and bravery were particularly noted during his three tours in Afghanistan, where he was responsible for critical transport missions, to include one involving then Vice President Joe Biden.
Paul was a dedicated husband, father, brother and son. He was a true patriot whose love for his country was evident in his commitment to his duties.
The life he lead was a testament to his dedication not only to his family but also to his nation.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Witz Gardenhire; son, Jesse Gardenhire; brothers, Brian and Rick Gardenhire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Neff Gardenhire and Doris Sue Hardin Gardenhire.
Paul will be greatly missed.
