Carl Eugene McCall, 85, passed away on November 22, 2024, at his home in Pensacola, FL. He was born on Saturday, April 29th, 1939, to John Wesley McCall and Annie Camp in Philadelphia, PA. Born the youngest of four siblings- Marie, Charlie, and Dot, he embraced the role of the baby brother. Carl was educated by the Philadelphia school system attending Edward W. BOK Technical High School where he studied carpentry. After graduating he joined the Army and prided himself as military police in which he guarded President Eisenhower.
While serving in the army, Carl met, fell in love, and married his partner of over 60 years, Mary Madeline Perkins. Together they raised and nurtured a multitude of successful and college-educated family members and children in Philadelphia, PA as well as Pensacola, FL.
Once completing his years of military service, Carl attended Temple University. He joined the workforce as an educator teaching adult carpentry at John F Kennedy Vocational Technical School. He continued down this path over the years becoming a wood shop teacher at John Bartram High School where he wore many hats inspiring young minds with his craft and life lessons until early retirement where he took on another job at JEVS once again teaching. Beyond the classroom, he was a pillar of the community, always ready to lend a hand, lead a project, or mentor those in need.
Above all else, Carl cherished his family. He was a loving husband to Madeline for 62 years; a proud father to Michael Perkins, Rochelle Perkins-McCall, Wesley McCall, and Nicole McCall; and a devoted grandfather to Sheena Smith, Shakira White, Amber Duckworth, De’Zhanae McCall-Butler, Taajhir McCall, and Cionee Kennedy.
