Obituary of Yvonne Elaine Ballew

On Sunday, December 22, Yvonne Elaine Johnson Ballew of Navarre Florida. (formerly of Dallas, Georgia) Left her earthly body to be with Jesus for eternity. Yvonne was born in Copperhill, Tennessee on August 15, 1951 to Winston Fred Johnson and Emily Nunnally Johnson. She attended Avondale High School and  graduated from Gaines Pressley Cosmetology School. She worked at Mr. Pressley’s salon until the spring of 1974. Yvonne enjoyed a career in retail in her later years, but the job that was most special to her was being a mother and a nana. She loved to travel with her family, she was an amazing cook and an incredible baker. She was happy to share her baked goods and the recipes with everyone. Yvonne spent many years leading Girl Scout and Brownie troops for her daughters. She also enjoyed being a team mom for Jimmy’s baseball and football teams. 

She is preceded  in dead by Her parents Winston (Johnny) and Emily Johnson, beloved step mother Lois Johnson, first husband John A Swords (Specialist US Army Vietnam), Aunt Vann and Uncle Tommy Nunnally.

Yvonne leaves behind Her younger brother Ricky Johnson.

Left to cherish her memory are her children;
Tammy Jones (Chris) Navarre, FL, Kristie Ballew Pilgrim (Mac) Villa Rica, GA, Jimmy Ballew Cumming, GA.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Richard Smith, Jonathon Smith,  Bailee Leverett, Emily Pilgrim, Ryan Pilgrim, Cody Ballew, Jake Ballew

As well as her Great grandchildren; Uriah Smith, Ella Pilgrim & Wesley Leverett.



The family will host a private ceremony in the Spring of 2025 in Navarre, Florida.
