Obituary of Elaine Katherine Greenwood

Devoted mother and grandmother Elaine Kathrine Greenwood died, surrounded by loved ones and at peace after life well lived, on February 18, 2023. Elaine was born to Harry and Blanch Engle on July 28, 1928, in Frederick, South Dakota. At the time of her death, she was living with her son, Roger, and his wife, Marion, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Elaine was a peppy soul who carried her high school cheerleader attitude and energy throughout her entire life. She was known for her intelligence, quick wit, charm, and love for family. She traveled many miles throughout her 94 years, living in the Philippines, Colorado, Arizona, and her favorite place, Florida. She also traveled extensively through Europe as a U.S. Air Force wife. Her first marriage was to Warren Greenwood. She later married Cal Moore, the love of her life, and helped manage their real estate development company and custom home-building business. Later marriages were to Dale Dykeman and Donald Greenwood. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and husbands. She is survived by Roger and Marion along with her daughter, Kimberly (Charles) Kampmann, of Cape Coral, Florida. Survivors also include her beloved granchildren, Erik (Joshua Wilson) Kampmann, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Nicole Kampmann, of Orlando, Florida. She will be deeply missed, but the family rests in the knowledge that, though, "Weeping may remain for a night...rejoicing comes in the morning." They are certain that Elaine, free of earthly pain and bodily restraints, is doing a lot of rejoicing, probably with a glass of champagne or two.
