Obituary of harry james rodriguez
Harry James Rodriguez, 64 of Fort Walton Beach, Florida rolled away on Tuesday January 17, 2023.
Harry was born in Lampasas, Texas on January 12, 1959 to Miguel Sr. and Joy Rodriguez. Harry attended Community College of the Air Force and went on to work for Boeing as an Aircraft Armament Systems Technician. Harry married Jacqueline Mix on March 12, 2016.
Harry joined the USAF in 1978 and spent the next thirteen years defending his country before leaving the service in 1991. He continued to serve his country as a defense contractor for Boeing and retired in 2020.
Harry was always the life of the party and had an infectious smile that was impossible not to like. He lived most of his life in the North Florida region before finally settling in Fort Walton Beach where he became a fixture in the local community. He was often seen at Buffalo’s Reef watching his beloved Florida Gators. He was an avid golfer, cherished his time out on his motorcycle, and was often found on his boat relishing a day on the water. More important to him than what he was doing, was who he was doing it with. Harry was a friend to everyone he met.
Harry also loved his family. Thirteen years ago, he met the love of his life, Jacqueline, and everything really came together for him. They would spend the rest if his life together and their happiness was evident to anyone who saw them. While the family is scattered around the country, Harry was always there with words of wisdom or a helping hand. Harry was an amazing father to his two children, Chad and Jeremy, and became a great father to Kirk. Known as “Pa Harry,” he was a grandfather of three, James, Madelyn and Rowan.
It has been said, “The measure of a man’s life is the well spending of it, and not the length.” If that is true, then Harry’s life was lived beyond measure.
Harry is survived by his wife Jacqueline Rodriguez, sons Chad Rodriguez, Jeremy Rodriguez, and Kirk Mix, grandchildren James, Maddie, and Rowan Rodriguez, sisters Lisa Grubbs, Sharon Phillips, Gloria Bankston, and Mary Clements, brothers Miguel and Andy Rodriguez, and mother Joy Rodriguez. He is preceded in death by his twin brother Lamar Rodriguez and father Miguel Sr. Rodriguez.
Celebration of Life is scheduled for February 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Buffalo’s Reef Restaurant.
