Obituary of carole francis mohler

Carole Francis Mohler, 80, of Niceville, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2022. Carole was born on September 1, 1942 to Kathleen Howard in Chester, England. She was later adopted by Cardinal Taylor after he married her mother. Carole completed her schooling at Rushey Mead Girl's School in Leicester, England. Carole married Lester Alan Mohler on December 16, 1961. Together they began a military life that spanned 26 years and took them to France, Florida, South Carolina, Spain, England, and Germany. She retired to Florida after her beloved Alan passed away in 2001 and settled in Niceville to keep her close USAF contact through Eglin AFB. Carole was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, Nicholas (Nick) and Christopher (Chris); grandchildren, Ashley and Brandi; daughter-in-law, Dee; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Paul; Niece and Nephews, Sarah, Simon, and Clive. Carole loved that she was an Air Force spouse. She worked for multiple credit unions helping people with financial difficulties. Carole was known for her loving and sweet spirit. While she and Alan served tours of duty in Spain, England, and Germany she was known for expansive holiday meals prepared for not only her family but also for service members that had no family in the country. She loved being active and could be found playing tennis weekly or Volksmarching in Germany every weekend. Carole had a lifelong love of the beach. Carole developed numerous friendships that she cherished at the Niceville Senior Center. She adored her family and her friends that are too numerous to mention. The family would like to thank all the staff at Covenant Care Hospice at West Florida, the LTAC in Mobile, and the Eglin AFB Hospital for their kindness and care they gave to mom. Carole's Florida arrangements have been entrusted to Family-Funeral & Cremation, Mary Esther, FL (850)226-4240. Her arrangements for Arlington National Cemetery will be entrusted to Storke Funeral Home, Arlington, VA (571)730-7900. A Service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 101 Mary Esther Blvd., Mary Esther, Fl 32569. Visitation at 10AM with a service to follow at 11AM. Carole will be laid to rest with Alan in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia at a future date.
