Tribute to Ronnie Sims
It was with great sadness that I learned that my very good friend, Ronnie Sims, had passed. Ronnie and I basically grew up together in Pensacola. We were on many football, basketball and baseball teams together. He was the center on football teams at Brownsville and Escambia while I was the quarterback. He played basketball also and was on the 1966 Escambia Florida state baseball team. We were in classes together and shared many happy school events together. Ronnie was a great guy! Everyone loved being around him. As life happens and I moved to Indiana I did not see him a lot in recent years but I thought of him often when my thoughts went back to the great times at Escambia. Ronnie was a devoted team player and exceptionally talented athlete. We were all blessed to be in his presence! Heaven just got another great person! I know he is there with Jesus! My sincere condolences go to his family, classmates and multitude of friends.
