Carmelita Hart

Obituary of Carmelita Hart

Carmelita Rodriguez Hart, aged 79, left this earthly life to enter her eternal rest on March 4th, 2024 in Pensacola, Florida. Born on May 26th, 1944, in Phoenix, Arizona, she was the daughter of Francis Martinez Eylicio. She was preceded in death by her mother, her beloved husband Schuyler Hart, and her sister Otillia Martinez.

Carmen was a talented artist who had a love for all things beautiful. She really loved art of all kinds and she had a knack for finding something old and tattered and making it into something new and fun. She had a very creative eye and could see potential in almost anything. She was interested in and worked professionally in various areas of art including interior design, jewelry making, painting and portraits, floral arranging, dress making, sewing of all things, and she even was a school art teacher for a period of time.

One of her favorite things to do was to host parties and holiday get togethers. She enjoyed cooking and was great at creating meals people loved. She always put together beautiful fine dining settings and table arrangements where she always had an abundance of décor for any occasion or holiday that was being celebrated. The happiest celebration of Carmen’s life was the day she married her loving husband Schuyler Hart on December 21, 1974; the joy they both experienced that day can be felt to this day in their beautiful wedding photos.

Carmen was survived by her sisters Terri Elycio, MaryAnn Garcia, Frankie Elycio and Juanita Altirano; children Sandra Hart Brown, Debra Hart Anderson, and Julie Hart Magee; grandchildren Schuyler Hart, Carmelita Harbeson, Tristan Anderson, Bailey Hart and Coleson Magee; and Her great grandchildren Mila Anderson, Ava Hart, Skylar Hart, and Emerald Hart.

Upon Carmen’s request, there will be no services but a Funeral Mass will be held at a later date.

Merciful God, we commend to you Carmelita Hart.
In your all-powerful love, blot out the sins she has committed through human weakness and let her live with you in paradise forever.

Carmen is gone now from this earthly dwelling, and has left behind those who mourn in her absence.

Grant that we may hold her memory dear,
never bitter for what we have lost
nor in regret for the past,
but always in hope of the eternal Kingdom
where you will bring us together again.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.

Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
